You Have to Listen

There is a lot for a new dad to listen to but it is mostly in the form of crying and yelling and laughing and stealing your glasses. Communication is non-language-based between the dad and the baby. What does listening look like when one party cannot speak a word and hasn’t developed object pertinence?

It looks like focusing on the child and not yourself.
